The Climate Crisis Advisory Group (CCAG), has announced the appointment of Dr. Alin Halimatussadiah, strengthening the organisation’s expertise in environmental and social economics.

An Associate Professor of Economics and Business at Universitas Indonesia, Dr. Halimatussadiah is an expert on climate policy, just energy transitions, sustainable financing, carbon pricing and green economic transformation.

She also leads the Green Economy and Climate Research Group at the University’s Institute for Economic and Social Research, and serves as the coordinator of Indonesia Climate Modelling and Policy Hub (I-CLIMB), a network of climate modellers, researchers, and policy advocators that promote science-based climate policy.

Indonesia, like much of South-East Asia, is highly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Dr Halimatussadiah’s experience in researching and advising on these complex regional challenges will bring enormous value to CCAG’s global work as it continues to provide world-leading guidance on the challenges posed by the climate crisis.

Commenting on her appointment, Dr Halimatussadiah said: “I am honoured to join CCAG and to work alongside its distinguished members in advancing climate solutions that are equitable, inclusive, transformative, and impactful. I look forward to bringing perspectives from Indonesia and the wider Global South, building on my work in green economy and climate finance to help shape evidence-based policy recommendations that foster a resilient and sustainable global future.

Sir David King, Founder and Chair of CCAG, said: “The economic challenges of reversing climate change and financing a just transition to renewable economies are among the greatest challenges the world faces today. Dr. Halimatussadiah’s research and track record of providing critical policy advice will greatly strengthen CCAG’s ability to guide policymakers and business leaders alike in tackling these issues.”

Following this latest appointment, the Climate Crisis Advisory Group now comprises 19 world-leading climate experts spanning a wide range of disciplines, working together to provide science-based guidance to addressing the pressing challenges posed by climate change.
